Projections turistiche
Since 2007, Alba International Film Festival and Cinema Corto in Bra, united under the name of Alba e Bra in Festival, are engaged in an ambitious European cooperation project. Having received the EU approval only recently, the project will get under way starting from Alba Festival’s next edition.
Project title: Tourist Projections – Transboundary Festivals between Culture and Nature. Promoters and partners: Ente Turismo Alba Bra Langhe & Roero and Grandeur Nature, French association based in Château Ville Vieille, in Queyras Valley, French Hautes-Alpes, whose aim is to promote and spread cultural and artistic activities, and technics that offer a new window on nature.
By the cooperation between this two organizations, Tourist Projections aims at carrying out various activities – cultural, artistic and tourist events – to promote their relative territories: on one hand, Langa and Roero, with their hills, vineyards, villages, food and wines; on the other, Queyras, with its valleys, mountains, rivers and traditions of the Alpine region just beyond the Italian border.
The main goal is to diversify and qualify the tourist offer of both areas, experimenting new ideas, new attractions, and new cultural-artistic events that can involve tourist operators and local associations, opening the season even in usually neglected periods of the year.
The initiative proposed by Tourist Projections provides the networking of three movie festivals: Alba International Film Festival (March 17-22), Cinema Corto in Bra (June 25-28) and Festival Grandeur Nature, a summer event “under the stars” devoted to the relationship between nature and arts, including sculpture, photography and graphics as well as cinema.
