Script&Pitch Workshops / TorinoFilmLab Training
Also for the 2009 edition the Alba International Film Festival is confirming its interest in cinema workshops which have always enhanced its programme.
Script&Pitch Workshops, the course in advanced screenwriting for European professionals, is not missing, this year open also to screenwriters and story editors of the international scene thanks to a partnership with TorinoFilmLab Training, which is helding its first session from March 16th until March 22nd 2009, during the days just before the Festival and during the Festival itself. The course involves 10 months of intensive work dedicated to developing 20 films (3 residencial workshops in Piedmont and France, 2 on-line sessions), which will be presented to producers from all over the world during a pitch which will be held in November, during the Torino Film Festival days.
On the other hand, it will be the first time at the Alba International Film Festival for the TorinoFilmLab Development workshop. During the Festival, the second stage of TorinoFilmLab is going to take place, with the participation of the Script&Pitch Workshops/Training 2008 projects which won the Development Awards. From March 21st until March 24th, there will be the first annual workshop dedicated to first and second works at their stage of pre-production.
What is the Torino FilmLab?
The TorinoFilmLab is the first italian workshop, connected to the Torino Film Festival, which supports emerging talents from all over the world through activities of Training, Development and Funding.
Dedicated to first and second works, the TorinoFilmLab is the place where one’s own stories are to be born, and where one can have the possibility to get a production fund at the end of his course.
The TorinoFilmLab is promoted by the main institutions of cinema in Turin and in Piedmont – the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and the Film Commission Torino Piemonte – in partnership with the advanced training course Script&Pitch Workshops, supported by the EU Programme MEDIA.
The TorinoFilmLab is starting in 2008 with a 1,000,000 euros budget per year for every activity, granted by the Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities, the Regione Piemonte and the Città di Torino.
