I muri portanti
Frida, un anziana signora dell’Europa orientale di origine ebraica, sta lentamente per dendo la memoria: convinta di poter incontrare il marito defunto, ogni giorno si reca nel suo vecchio appartamento di Parigi, ma qui incontra solamente la giovane affittuaria Manou. Preoccupata per le continue visite della donna, Manou contatta i suoi due figli: Judith, una casalinga divorziata e stanca di una vita spesa al servizio degli altri, e Simon, un noto opinionista politico che però non ha mai saputo prendersi cura della figlia adolescente. La malattia di Frida e la necessità di trovarle una sistemazione consentiranno ai due fratelli di riavvicinarsi e di fare nuovi incontri che apriranno inaspettati orizzonti per le loro vite.
"C’era una volta. Per Frida, una volta c’era la vita, anche se nel dramma della storia. Adesso che la vita se ne sta andando, non c’è più l’oggi e il passato ritorna. Cinema di memorie, film sul riaffiorare del passato e sul naufragare del presente. Film delicato e avvolgente. Senza sbalzi bruschi, solo con qualche sobbalzo com’è naturale nell’esistenza. Un personaggio, Frida, che, come si dice, perde la memoria ma va in cerca del tempo perduto. Cycles
Frida, an old woman of Jewish origin from Eastern Europe, is slowly losing her memory. She is convinced that she can meet up with her dead husband, so every day she goes to their old apartment in Paris, but she only meets up with Manou, the young woman renting the apartment. Manou is worried about the old woman’s constant visits so she contacts Frida’s two children: Judith, a divorced housewife who is tired of a life spent taking care of others, and Simon, a well-known political columnist who has never known how to care for his adolescent daughter. Frida’s illness and the need to find her an arrangement bring the two siblings back together and new encounters open unexpected horizons in their lives.

A film about memories, a film about the past resurfacing and the shipwreck of the present. Cyrill Gelblat
Cyril Gelblat (Paris, 1977), cresciuto a Nizza, dopo gli studi universitari, nel 2002 ha realizzato il suo primo cortometraggio Ages ingrats, al quale ha poi fatto seguito nel 2003 Le Ballon prisonnier, selezionato come il suo predecessore in diversi festival nazionali ed europei. Les Murs porteurs, suo primo lungometraggio, è stato realizzato sulla base di una sceneggiatura vincitrice del premio della CNC per la miglior opera prima e menzionata dal premio giovani Sopadin.
Cyril Gelblat (Paris, 1977) grew up in Nice and after college studies directed his first short movie Ages ingrats (2002), folloned in 2003 by Le Ballon prisonnier. Both movies are selected in various festivals in France and foreign countries. Les Murs porteurs, his first full-length movie has realized from a script which was the award winner of the first script price from the CNC and obtained a special mention price from the junior Sopadin best script price.
