Nata nel 1997, questa serie dedicata alla vita di una avvocatessa nevrotica che lavora in uno studio legale di Boston, circondata da singolari e strani colleghi, è stata un vero e proprio evento televisivo. Poche altre serie hanno osato così tanto a livello narrativo, utilizzando tecniche molto cinematografiche (la soggettiva, il monologo interiore, il montaggio in funzione comica), collezionando guest star di prestigio (Barry White, Tina Turner, Sting, Bruce Willis, Farrah Fawcwett, Lucy Liu, Robert Downey Jr) e naturalmente facendo incetta di Emmy e Golden Globes. Ally ormai è un simbolo, un personaggio entrato nel cuore di tutte le donne lavoratrici, divise tra carriera e vita privata, senza riuscire mai a capire dove è meglio andare.

Ma forse un duetto canoro con Sting potrà risolvere tutto e salvare la giornata.

Created in 1997, this series is about the life of a neurotic female lawyer who works in a legal office in Boston, surrounded by a series of eccentric, strange colleagues. The series was a true television event. Few other series have dared so much with their stories, using highly cinematographic techniques (first person, interior monologues, comic editing), collecting a string of prestigious guest stars (Barry White, Tina Turner, Sting, Bruce Willis, Farrah Fawcwett, Lucy Liu, Robert Downey Jr) and, naturally, winning a slew of Emmys and Golden Globes. Ally has become a symbol, a character who has entered the heart of women workers, who must divide their time between their career and their private life without ever understanding which way they should go.
