Vedova e con due figli a carico, la benestante Nancy si ritrova improvvisamente al verde. Nancy, a wealthy widow with two children still living at home, suddenly discovers she is broke. Instead of searching for a job so she can maintain her lifestyle, she chooses the easier path and begins to sell marijuana to the people in her little town on the outskirts of Los Angeles. An improvised drug dealer, Nancy has to face all the hazards of her job, as she tries to keep her children in the dark about her activities. In the meantime, her neighbor Celia continues her sad existence, with a weak husband and a chubby daughter she wishes were thin and pretty. The series, which was written by the creators of Sex and The City, was a success in the United States and won Mary-Louise Parker a Golden Globe.
