The eighth edition of the Alba International Film Festival will take place from March 17th until March 22nd 2009. After the success the new course met last year when it was inaugurated, those events will return: the competition Andar per Film, the Carte Blanche to an international guest and the special section eXistenZe.

Also for the 2009 edition the Alba International Film Festival is confirming its interest in cinema workshops which have always enhanced its programme. Script&Pitch Workshop is coming again, and its fourth edition will open the doors to screenwriters and story editors from all over the world, thanks to a partnership with TorinoFilmLab Training Programme (from March 16th until March 22nd). On the other hand, it’s going to be the first time for TorinoFilmLab Development workshop (from March 21st until March 24th).

During the next editing of the Festival will start the European cooperation project, Projections turistiche (Tourist Projections – Transboundary Festivals between Culture and Nature). Promoters and partners: Ente Turismo Alba Bra Langhe & Roero and French associations Grandeur Nature. Aims of the project: to promote and spread cultural and artistic activities, both in Italy and France.

A section with ten films with a common theme: “Only Laughing.”

This is the list of the guests who will introduce a film on theme “only Layghing.” Gianluca Favetto, Luciana Littizzetto, Carlo Mazzacurati, Pietro Montani, Paolo Mereghetti, Silver, Roberto Nepoti, Peppino Ortoleva, Giacomo Poretti, Gabriele Vacis.

Going for Films

COMPETITION

This is the program of the international Competition Going for fims. Nine films in competition, coming from eight countries all over the world. The Best film will be awarded by a popular jury held by the Italian director Agostino Ferrente.
